1964 Extract from local newspaper - Youth of Verwood form soccer club

What was a gathering of young people under the leadership of Mr R. F. Day, of Eblake, Verwood, has now become an established club. Known as the Rossgarth Rangers, they started last year by playing football matches with teams around their own ages

The idea caught on and Verwood soon realised that this was what the village wanted. With a thriving Verwood Football Club which catered for the older players, there was nothing for the lads still at school or just leaving school. Mr Day realised this and made the ground available and soon interested spread.

At this week Rossgarth Youth FC was born with objects to promote organised football for the boys of Verwood and district. The meeting agreed to inform Verwood FC in the hopes of establishing a friendly relationship between the two clubs

Below is an early picture of the a Rossgarth match being played in the "back garden" of Reg Days house called Rossgarth.
